 Booking

1) Which ferries can be booked by company TSF?
In principle, all suitable ferries for cargo throughout Europe and North Africa. The best overview offers our interactive map, or the Advanced Search.

2) Which type of vehicles can be booked by company TSF?
Basically all cargo vehicles, i.e. each type of vehicle for the commercial transportation of goods, from cars to heavy low loaders. Of course, we also book all other types of commercial vehicles - our many customers include carriers, removal companies, film studios, F1 racing teams, fair exhibitors and other entrepreneurs travelling Europe-wide. Trips for individuals, holidays or other tours private nature are reserved for passenger services and are not offered by TSF.

3) Which information is required for a reservation?
Normally only the identification (plate) number of the towing vehicle, the vehicle's length and date of travel. If applicable, of course, we may need data such as bigger then normal dimensions, dangerous goods loaded, electricity for the refrigeration unit etc etc. Depending on the route there may be other additional information needed, but always queried separately by TSF during the booking process.

4) Can I book a crossing also outside the "normal" opening times?
Existing customers will receive the TSF emergency number - we ask for your understanding that we hand over this number only after building a successful business relationship to our regular customers. New customers can contact us at any time during business hours.

5) How much lead is required by TSF to book a crossing?
In most cases, we are able to book with very short notice (even if the truck is already in port), but usually are 2-3 days lead time is recommended. The basic rule is: The longer the trip, the fewer departures are taking place - and you should always book as early as possible to secure the availability of space. Specials for specific bookings are already announced by TSF during the consultation to avoid problems in advance.

6) How fast can I get my booking confirmation?
This depends on the chosen route and the reaction time of the ferry company - in most cases less then 30 minutes, with very exotic ferry connections it may also be longer. You’ll always be kept informed by company TSF about the time needed for sending the booking confirmations.

7) How can I get my booking confirmation?
Here uses TSF all modern communication facilities always in consultation with the customer: telephone, fax, email or as SMS directly to the driver of the truck. The most "elegant" solution is the automated transfer via email to your predefined recipient. Please always check the received final booking confirmation if the information displayed is correct and contains accurate data!

Changes and cancellations, delay of the truck

1) Can I cancel a reservation, what are the costs?
Cancellations of Bookings are basically free of costs by TSF - this is our natural customer service. At crossings where there is an extra cancellation fee payable (by order of the ferry company), we are unfortunately to charge them to our customers. TSF is always striving to avoid any of these costs.

2) How can I change a booked plate number or data?
Because your truck can be identified by the shipping company only by the booked plate number, we ask for immediate announcement of the revised plate number or other important data (such as driver's name if he is required by the ferry company). These changes are of course free of charge by TSF. All changes must reach the port of departure at least 1 hour before the scheduled departure!

3) My truck is running late, what can I do?
Please tell TSF immediately after the notification about a possible delay - we will try to transfer your vehicle quickly and efficiently to the next available departure, or offer you an alternative crossing. This service is in the context of opportunities for you as a customer, of course, free!

Payment for booked crossings

1) When do I get the invoice, which terms are granted?
Initially new customers pay in advance, and after consultation or with the appropriate credit terms of payment will be changed to pay delayed (against invoice). Existing customers enjoy the ability to pay only after the crossing was used - the term of payment depends on appropriate credit agreement and the customer.

2) Which payment options do I have?
Basically, you can pay to TSF by bank transfer. Depending on the availability and agreement it is also possible to pay cash or by credit card.

Technical questions and details for crossings

1) Can I use ferries for a special transport or put special vehicles on the ferry?
This is always to be answered at a case by case basis and, depends on the route and shipping company. TSF is specialised in booking of special transports. Please see our verbatim information under section "Downloads".

2) Can I use a ferry with my truck with dangerous goods loaded?
Again, this is subject to the relevant provisions of shipping and is also dependent on the type of loaded goods. You can find more detailed information under section "Downloads".

3) Can I use my refrigerator truck (reefer) a ferry?
In most cases, this is "yes" to answer - again, depending on the ship and the shipping company. Most ships offer power supply for your unit, in some (rare) cases you may also use your own unit during the crossing. We ask you to check with TSF within the booking process.

4) May I use the ferry with a shipment of live animals?
This is dependent of the provisions of the various routes and shipping companies - please let us know the details of the planned trip, and we clarify the exact facts of each case for you.

5) May I take one or more co drivers with me?
With TSF booked cargo crossings, in most cases the principle driver is included in the price. Any additional passenger (co driver) will vary according to the provision of the shipping company - please ask us extra in the context of the booking. Caution: as cargo co drivers are usually only people with a valid driver's license for trucks accepted!

6) Which cabin accommodation is there for my driver?
This is handled different by each shipping company - generally if booked as cargo crossings there is no choice of cabins, or a single occupancy of a cabin. This is reserved for the passenger area only. In single cases, the drivers may spot a better cabin category and pay for directly on site. With most ferry crossings is included in the price of crossing both the cabin accommodation as well as the meals for the driver.
